MOLA was a creative exercise run between 2019-2020 where I produced both the product and design. I sold earrings and other small accessories made from discarded laser-cut acrylic sheets and used gems and glass sourced from thrift stores.

Cellutype (2019)

Type records the spoken word that would’ve otherwise been lost to time. I wanted to subvert type’s function by creating Cellutype, a typeface designed to temporarily live on the human body and gradually fade into the user's skin. Within a few minutes, the letters that were once clearly legible are now gone. The impermanence of the type reminds the user of their mortality and imprint on the world.

Restore is a fictitious laundry detergent designed to lessen water pollution. The concept is based on existing technology that does not negatively impact the environment, unlike existing laundry detergents. This technology was nearly implemented into production, but the product never came to fruition due to negative feedback from focus groups since the detergent does not produce suds. Heme-oxidants in the detergent form beautiful crystal “pods” that can be thrown into the wash. Restore aims to appeal to the environmentally conscious consumer, redefining the misconception that suds do not equate to cleanliness.
